This year is Hey ! Say ! JUMP's 15th anniversary in the music business & in comes the release of their latest studio album offering FILMUSIC! .
Except for their 4th album JUMPing CAR , the group's studio albums generally have been good & this's no exception for FILMUSIC! which I really enjoy from start til finish .
FILMUSIC! on whole is a very musically diverse album & most of the new album material was able to stack up on par if not are better than the prior released single songs which's not an easy thing to do but somehow Hey ! Say ! JUMP managed this quite well .
This's 1 of the rare times I feel that Fate or Destiny shouldn't have been the main album track that had a video made & I thought it should have gone to MASTERPIECE instead as it's such a great album opening no. which really set the tone for what to expect from the rest of FILMUSIC! .
Not that Fate or Destiny is terrible but the considerable amount of English lyrics in the song is a bit of a turn off to me .
Another album track that had potential to have a video made is Change the world Y2K which I didn't expect samples of their previous released single songs such as Your Seed & Weekender to be utilied in the song's melody . That's something I rarely see from happening & if a video was made for Change the world Y2K , I'm sure it would have been a really cool nostagia trip down memory lane .
Also in another 1st , I never thought I see the day that the group made an answer call song to 1 of their past prior released single song & to say they flip the switch or rather script from Come On A My House to Get Out Of My House is an understatement .
As to the 5 additional videos that were made for album tracks but none of them are not included in the DVD/Blu-ray of FILMUSIC! , it reminds to be seen if any of them will be included in a future physical release but considering this's the 1st time such a marketing tactic was used to promote their album , it's hard to tell for now .
Despite a few hiccups , I overall enjoy FILMUSIC! & unlike other artistes who have celebrated their 15th anniversary , for Hey ! Say ! JUMP not to release another best album to mark this milestone of theirs , it's something I'm ok with .
Hey ! Say ! JUMP is 1 of the few artistes I've supported them from the beginning & it's heartening to see how far they've come and that said , belated happy 15th anniversary to them !
