ayaka's 1st covers album Yu-on Club ~1st grade~ was released in 2013 .
Love Love Love is a cover of Ken Hirai's 7th single . Before this , ayaka covered Ken's 20th single Hitomi wo Tojite in Yu-on Club ~1st grade~ .
ayaka's take on Hitomi wo Tojite was not bad but for me I was more excited to hear her own rendition of Love Love Love cos this's the song that's credited as his breakthrough hit .
And sure enough , ayaka's rendition of Love Love Love is something I really enjoy . The original version of the song was and is still timeless + ayaka doesn't need to further elevate her rendition of the track , except by utilising her great singing voice .
In this context , less is more .
GRANRODEO Tribute Album "RODEO FREAK" was originally supposed to be released on 13th May & this release features 9 different GRANRODEO songs which have been covered by different artistes .
The new physical CD release date for GRANRODEO Tribute Album "RODEO FREAK" has now been changed to 19th Aug even though 6 out of 9 songs were released digitally on 13th May and 1 of them being BREAKERZ's cover of The Other self .
The 3 songs that're not released digitally are :
-- SID - Infinite Love ; 2nd single
-- FLOW - modern strange cowboy ; 11th single
-- Nishikawa Takanori - Henai no Rondo ; 19th single
BREAKERZ covered GRANRODEO's 20th single The Other self which's found as track 2 in GRANRODEO Tribute Album "RODEO FREAK" .
I will not lie , I was real disappointed when I found out BREAKERZ covered The Other self cos GRANRODEO has so many great songs in their discography & let alone The Other self alongside with Can Do are 2 of GRANRODEO's most radio friendly yet over commercialised songs .
That said , I was very surprised when I heard BREAKERZ's rendition of The Other self cos their take on the song is nothing like how the original sounded like .
The original rendition of The Other self is real upbeat & peppy . BREAKERZ puts a spin on theirs & turned it into a mid tempo ballad .
In a way BREAKERZ made their rendition of The Other self their own cos if their cover were to sound an almost exact copy , then what's the point in covering a song in the 1st place ?

FLOWER FLOWER's last studio album release was 2018's Spotlight .
Target includes 12 songs with Yume serving as the lead promo track for the album .
Digital released song Tomoshibi is not included in Target .
2 videos were made for Yume & Joka but both of them are not included in the Blu-ray of Target .
Target also includes 2 duets Atsui Atsui & Futari which both songs feature odol's Mizobe Ryo .
Spotlight was an unexpectedly fantastic album that FLOWER FLOWER put out 2 years ago so naturally expectations are relatively high when comes to Target .
Luckily Target more or less delivers & picks up from where Spotlight left .
Target overall is just as good as Spotlight even though certain tracks took a bit longer for me to remember .
And it's easy to see why Yume was chosen as Target's lead promo track as it's 1 of the standout songs in the album while Joka is not bad too .
Also despite rather uninspiring song titles , Ningyo , Ai no Uta in actual fact are really great album ballads .
As for the 2 duets FLOWER FLOWER did together with odol's Mizobe Ryo , fans might either like or dislike them . Luckily for me I fall in the 1st category and between both songs , I like Futari more than Atsui Aitsu .
If there's 1 thing that I don't like about Target is that I rather see Tabi no Tochuu be slotted as the last song while Asa be in front .
Asa is my least favourite album track in Target and for it to be the longest song in the tracklist , that's not helping matters either .
I would prefer Tabi no Tochuu to be the last song in Target & that way FLOWER FLOWER would end things on a positive high note .
All in all just like Spotlight , I also enjoy Target tremendously . And FLOWER FLOWER's decision not to include Tomoshibi in Target is ok to me cos I think it would sound out of place in the album .
It reminds to be seen if FLOWER FLOWER will do this again where they release albums with no singles preceding them . It's risky but it has worked for them in Spotlight & now Target and I frankly don't mind if they do it once more with their next album release in the near future .
