Hey ! Say ! JUMP's 33rd double A-side single showcases 2 different musical sides of the group , an upbeat love song & an edgy fast song .
The catchy pop love song DEAR MY LOVER was used as the theme song of the spring 2023 TBS romcom series Ousama ni Sasagu Kusuriyubi .
Meanwhile , Ura Omote is the theme song of Yamada's 2022 Fuji TV series TV drama Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete . The song's theme reflects the drama's main character who has a dual personality .
After a fruitful 15th year anniversary celebration last year , Hey ! Say ! JUMP returns this year with the release of their latest single offering DEAR MY LOVER / Ura Omote .
I overall enjoy DEAR MY LOVER / Ura Omote & no surprises between the 2 , I prefer Ura Omote more .
I thought DEAR MY LOVER was going to be a ballad but instead it's a nice modern upbeat take on a typical wedding song .
B-sides wise , the only 1 I'm not really a fan of is Hey ! Say ! BEST's Sweet Chilli Sauce . Both Edelweiss & Hey ! Say ! 7's Ano ni Tsu no Boku e are pleasant sounding mid tempo no.s while I find VILLAIN to be very interesting as the song's melody changes as the song progresses on .
Hey ! Say ! JUMP 15th Anniversary LIVE TOUR 2022-2023 DVD/Blu-ray will be released on 12th July & hopefully DEAR MY LOVER / Ura Omote will not be the only new release from the group .
The group's 1st new release of 2023 is a newly re-recorded song of their 2011 / 4th single . It's also the 1st recording which featured SPYAIR's new vocalist YOSUKE who replaced vocalist IKE who left the group last March to focus on his health .
I'm not going to lie , it was devastating when IKE left SPYAIR last year due to health issues . Not only was he the 2nd member to leave the group but his singing voice is very distinct & unique .
When it was announced the reminding members set out to find a new vocalist to replace IKE , naturally I wondered if the new vocalist is able to fill in some very big shoes vocal wise .
After listening to the new version of Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!) , my answer is a definite yes . For YOSUKE to sound on par if not almost identical to IKE , it's quite shocking & I really thought it was IKE when I 1st heard Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!) -New Version- .
The reminding SPYAIR members chose YOSUKE out of more than 1,000 people & after hearing Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!) -New Version- , it's easy to see (or is it hear) why .
Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!) is 1 of SPYAIR's signature songs so I'm not surprised they decided to introduce YOSUKE via the new rendition of the song .
