1) Star Forest
2) Star Forest -Instrumental-
This's SID's 1st single release of 2021 & Star Forest was used to promote SID's 1st outdoor concert SID LIVE 2021 -Star Forest- .
SID LIVE 2021 -Star Forest- was supposed to take place last year on 9th & 10th May before Sony eventually postponed it due to COVID-19 .
Star Forest was only released in 1 version , CD limited version & this's also their 1st single release not to have any video made either .
Credits wise , Star Forest was written by vocalist Mao & composed by guitarist Shinji .
Star Forest on 1st listen is a really nice song & for it to be used to SID's 1st outdoor concert , it's quite fitting .
It's a bit unfortunate that SID didn't made a video for Star Forest but I do hope that down the line , they would reconsider as it would be a wasted opportunity not to have it done .

CD + DVD A & CD + Blu-ray B
This's the group's 1st single release of 2021 , the A-side was chosen to promote NTV's drama Tantei ☆ Hoshi Kamo starring member Arioka Daiki .
Produced by TikToker Ujita Mai & choreographed by Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders , Negative Fighter is described as a message song that affirms negative emotions .
Just like KAT-TUN's Roar , Negative Fighter is also Hey ! Say ! JUMP's 1st single release to be released in Blu-ray , alongside with CD & 2 different CD + DVD versions .
A total of 4 B-sides are made available in Negative Fighter :
3 in CD only version
- ♯502
- Letter
- Bokura no Imi o
1 in CD + DVD / CD + Blu-ray Type B version(s)
- Try & error
This song was performed for the 1st time during Hey! Say! JUMP Fab! -Live speaks.-
Hey! Say! JUMP voice and fights negative emotions in the group's 29th single Negative Fighter . The message song is the theme song for the NTV drama Tantei ☆ Hoshi Kamo starring Arioka Daiki . The song is produced by TikTok sensation Ujita Mai , the creator of the viral song September , Choushi wa Doudai .
I wasn't sure what to think about Negative Fighter when I 1st heard the song as I thought it sounded a bit too campy for my liking but lyrically it more or less make up for things .
The last few seconds of Negative Fighter is extremely fast paced & they went all out with a ton of saxophone beats .
All the B-sides in Negative Fighter are musically different from each other but in a good way & just like Last Mermaid...'s Stupid , it's a real shame that Try & error is a B-side and not an A-side with it being my favourite B-side no. out of the rest .
I'm sure Negative Fighter will not be the only release Hey ! Say ! JUMP put out this year & I think it wouldn't be long before they release another new single & it will be a milestone for them ie. their 30th .
This's the 2nd time that Lost love song has been re-recorded :
Lost love song 【I】 ; released as 2nd A-side of 15th single Yell / Lost love song
Lost love song 【II】 ; included as track 5 in 8th self titled album
And just like Lost love song 【I】 & 【II】 , a video was also made for Lost love song 【III】 .
Normally when artistes re-record their old songs , most of the time , only the melody will be changed & also the vocals but that's not the case for Lost love song 【III】 .
Up to now , I never came across any other artiste who not only re-record the same song twice but all 3 versions with the same song title do not sound the same from each other and for Hilcrhyme to do that , it's quite unreal .
For Lost love song 【III】 , it's different from Lost love song 【I】 & 【II】 be it lyrically or musically . But I personally still feel that Lost love song 【II】 is the best out of the lot .
It reminds to be seen whether will Hilcrhyme will push on for a Lost love song 【IV】 but I think it should not happen , 3 is more than enough .
Out of the 3 songs that YOUYA has put out so far , I think Surrender is the 1 that I like the most out of the 3 even though the usage of auto tune still turned me off a bit .
Unlike the 1st 2 songs Ghost & Angel , what makes Surrender stands out is that there's a bit of influence spilled over from Matsushita's solo works which made me feel nostagic .
Seeing that the songs YOUYA has released so far are all upbeat no.s , perhaps his future next 1 should be a ballad for a change ?
The digital release of Tender Love comes in a week after Motto Ii Hi ni .
Tender Love was written as a tie-up with Chugai Pharmaceuticals & arranged by UTA . ayaka commented , "I wrote this song with gratitude to all persons involved in the medical field ."
Both Motto Ii Hi ni & Tender Love are very different from each other and for Tender Love , it's an emotional ballad which ayaka vocally shines in .
Unlike Motto Ii Hi ni which took me a while to decide whether I like it or not , I didn't encounter the same problems with Tender Love & I think it's a great tribute to all the healthcare workers who have tirelessly work to counter attack against the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic .
