Kanjani∞ - Musekinin Hero B-sides Review

There're 4 different B-sides scattered in Kanjani∞'s 9th single Musekinin Hero which's released officially today in Japan .

As such I will review all of them according to where the B-side's located in which edition of the single .

Michishirube [Guidepost] (CD Only Track)

Michishirube (Guidepost) is a really nice easy listening mid tempo pop song . At least it's not as crazy as some of the guys's other singles if you ask me . I took a liking to the song on 1st listen which's nice .

The song's quite long clocking in at almost 5:10 mins but other than that , this song's a keeper & isn't the regular edition cover just too cute for words ? It's like the guys are trying to make a mock political statement of sorts .

Michishirube

Kemuri (Smoke) & ∞ o'clock '08 (CD + DVD Type A Tracks)

Kemuri (Smoke) is 1 angsty no. & as such I had a bit of a shock when I 1st heard it as I got quite used to their crazy songs but still this's a nice change to their other singles that I have heard of the guys .

∞ o'clock '08 is just ... weird on all levels . This's the only B-side that doesn't sit well with me in the beginning as I didn't know what to expect prior to hearing ∞ o'clock '08 & it doesn't help that it has a weird title too .

But thankfully this's a pretty good B-side although I think it's the strangest song outta the whole lot .

I'm still trying to get used to the song at this point in time , hopefully after a few more listens , I will change my perception on this no. .

Kemuri

∞ o'clock '08

fuka-fuka Love the Earth (CD + DVD Type B Track)

fuka-fuka Love the Earth's probably my fave B-side on the Musekinin Hero single as this's a really catchy song & I like how the guys harmonise themselves real well together in this somewhat laidback chill out tune .

Not to mention I realise this song seem to sound better as each listen goes by , great stuff !

It's the 1st time I've listened to Kanjani∞'s B-sides & I must say that I'm generally impressed with their B-side/s material as I didn't know what to expect prior to listening to all 4 of them & of course the A-side Musekinin Hero's a great solid catchy no. .

Hopefully they can come up with another batch of great B-sides in due time .

fuka-fuka Love the Earth

Aoyama Thelma - Mamoritai Mono (I Want To Protect This)

Mamoritai Mono (I Want To Protect This) is Aoyama Thelma's 4th single . This's going to be released in 2 Wed's time ie. on 12nd Nov in Japan . The song is served as the theme song for the dodrama Team Batista no Iko .

This's Aoyama's 2nd single release for the year after she put out Nando mo (How Many Times) way back in July & it's nice to see her coming back with this pretty good ballad .

I prefer this slightly over than Nando mo even though both are ballad driven no.s but still this's a really nice R&B song coming from Aoyama .

It's said that she will be releasing another new single titled Daikkirai Demo Arigato (I Hate You , But Thanks) on 10th Dec & also a remix album called PARTY PARTY on the same day as well . Regardless of which , I look forward to more news & details pertaining to both releases .

alan - Megumi no Ame (Blessed Rain)

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Megumi no Ame (Blessed Rain) is alan's 7th Japanese single . This's set to be released in 2 Wed's time ie. on 12th Nov in Japan & it's alan's 5th/last single in her 5 singles elements set , representing Water in the Japanese Godai & the Tibetan Bön .

The song's about love & peace & yesterday the video & the song itself have been officially released on Japanese TV .

Megumi no Ame is either a song that you like or don't depending on whether you like alan's ballads or not . Fortunately for my case , this's 1 song that I like although I must admit that it's not as attention grabbing as her other singles , be it in her singles elements set or not & it took me quite a while to get used to the song as it's a bit different from her usual material .

Thankfully what saved an otherwise boring ballad is the music arrangement of the song in which I really like . I love the strings orchestra feel & the music cameo appearance of the erhu & if you have caught the video of Megumi no Ame , you would have noticed alan playing the erhu herself as she's an accomplished erhu player .

Although there're no traces of her signature yodelling in Megumi no Ame but still , she let out her powerful vocals to be shine in this song which she delivered sincerely straight from her heart .

Kanjani∞ - Zukkoke Otokomichi (Go For It ! Man's Road)

Zukkoke Otokomichi (Go For It ! Man's Road) is Kanjani∞'s 6th single . This was released last April on 11th in Japan .

This's actually 1 of my fave singles coming from the guys . I like it that it's catchy without going over the top & the music of it is really addictive & I got drawn to the song on 1st listen .

The lyrics of Zukkoke Otokomichi are very comical & the song itself is very random in character & live performances on television variety shows often leave other artists , as well as the hosts , with half-stunned-half-amused expressions .

CD Review :: Soundtrack Of High School Musical 3 : Senior Year

Tracklist :

1) Now Or Never (Cast Of High School Musical 3)
2) Right Here , Right Now (Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens)
3) I Want It All (Ashley Tisdale & Lucas Grabeel)
4) Can I Have This Dance (Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens)
5) A Night To Remember (Cast Of High School Musical 3)
6) Just Wanna Be With You (Lucas Grabeel , Olesya Rulin , Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens)
7) The Boys Are Back (Zac Efron & Corbin Bleu)
8) Walk Away (Vanessa Hudgens)
9) Scream (Zac Efron)
10) Senior Year Spring Musical Medley (Cast Of High School Musical 3)
11) We're All In This Together (Graduation Mix) [Cast Of High School Musical 3]
12) High School Musical (Cast Of High School Musical 3)

The soundtrack of High School Musical 3 : Senior Year was released on Tue in US . This comes in after the release of the 1st 2 soundtracks which shared the same name as the movies themselves .

High School Musical 3 : Senior Year is the 1st disney film to be released in cinemas , sequel wise . I suppose it's a wise move for them to do so after the massive success that the 1st 2 movies have attained in cable tv .

However I must admit prior to watching the 3rd instalment of the movie , I did downloaded the soundtrack from the net & on 1st listen , I found the songs extremely bland & none of the tunes stood out at all unlike the 1st 2 soundtracks but something happened after I watched the movie on Fri & now I managed to remember on how most of the tunes sound like .

Outta the 12 songs on the tracklist , almost 1/2 the songs ie. 5 are sung by the whole cast of HSM3 in which my fave has to be Now Or Never & A Night To Remember .

While I appreciate the grown up ie. graduation mix of We're All In This Together , I prefer listening to the original take on the song anytime of the day as it was a bit too slow for my liking .

Whereas for Senior Year Spring Musical Medley , it's a unique concept stringing together songs on the soundtrack to form a medley & it's the longest track on the album clocking in at a whopping 7:44 mins .

I didn't like Senior Year Spring Musical Medley at 1st prior to watching the movie but at least now I understand why the song was included in the album . Just watched the movie & you know why .

High School Musical is a neat way to close off the soundtrack as it's a really good song & it's classic HSM stuff I should add .

The only Ashley Tisdale & Lucas Grabeel tune I Want It All I feel is 1 of the standout tracks on the album & it's a pretty catchy song & it's a fun no. & I think it's on par with their other songs that both Ashley & Lucas did in the previous 2 soundtracks like Fabulous , Bop To The Top & What I've Been Looking For .

Just Wanna Be With You which's done by Lucas Grabeel , Olesya Rulin , Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens is a gem but too bad it's a short tune because I'm quite sure if the song were to be extended by a few secs or so , it might sound a bit more complete but still this's 1 nice sweet song .

The two duet songs that the main stars Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens are decent duet tunes I must say but if I were to pick between Right Here , Right Now & Can I Have This Dance , I prefer the latter but I must admit both songs somehow lack the oomph factor unlike their other duet songs that they did in the past .

I also like the 2 angsty songs on the soundtrack namely The Boys Are Back & Zac Efron's solo Scream although I must admit that Scream's not that grabbing as Bet On It on 1st listen but once I listen to Scream a few more times , it does get stuck on my head .

The same thing happens for The Boys Are Back too which's done by Zac & Corbin Bleu . After watching the movie , at least now I can recall on how the song sounds .

The only Vanessa solo on the soundtrack called Walk Away , it's a quite a nice grown up gospel influenced no. & I find this song pretty interesting as it sounded different as compared to the other songs on the album .

I have been a huge fan of the HSM series since the very 1st movie was aired on Disney Channel 2 years ago & honestly for any diehard HSM fan , you can definitely tell that this time round , the songs on HSM 3 are grown up & mature as compared to the other 2 movies's counterparts .

Although the songs are not as catchy on 1st listen but still give yourself a bit more time to warm up to the tunes & you'll be humming along to them in due time . Maybe like myself , after watching the movie , it will do wonders for you & that you'll be able to remember how all of them sound like , this's 1 method worth considering for .

I'm not sure whether will there be a 4th instalment of HSM but until then , enjoy the movie & the soundtrack , it's worth adding the soundtrack to your CD collection .

KAT-TUN - White X'mas Single Details

Source

White X'mas is KAT-TUN's upcoming brand new 8th single . It's scheduled to be released on Dec 3rd in Japan & this's the group's 2nd single release this year , almost 7 months + since the release of their previous single DON'T U EVER STOP .

CDJapan described the single as "Christmas present from KAT-TUN ! This new single features their first actual love ballad " & it will be released in both CD & CD + DVD editions which interestingly both editions are limited pressings .

The CD only will contain the A-side & the instrumental while the CD + DVD will not contain the instrumental , just the song itself & the DVD's content will contains the White X'mas music video & the making of segment .

Which probably will explain why the CD only edition cost ¥525 (inclusive of tax) while the CD + DVD will set you for ¥1,680 (inclusive of tax) .

Man it's about damn time the guys put out another single . I was getting worried after they went a bit MIA on me after they put out DON'T U EVER STOP & in a way I'm quite excited about this as it's their 1st actual love ballad although it's the 2nd ballad that they will be releasing after the fantastic 3rd single of theirs ala Bokura no Machi de (In Our Town) .

I do hope that the song will sound great & something tells me that it will fit the whole Christmas theme extremely well . I mean come on , with a title like White X'mas , it has to be good wouldn't it ?

NEWS - color Covers & Somemore Album Details

Regular Edition Cover :

Limited Edition Cover :

So the covers for NEWS's 3rd album color have been released officially via http://www.johnnys-net.jp & I must say both covers are pretty good .

I like the font wordings that're used on both covers although if you ask me , I prefer the limited edition cover more although I believe I will be getting the regular edition because of the extra track Towairo no Koi (Eternal Love Of Color) .

& apparently color will be doing a pacific take 2 . Why you ask ? Just take a look at the tracklisting below for color :

1) weeeek
2) STARDUST
3) SUMMER TIME
4) SNOW EXPRESS
5) Forever
6) MOLA (Yamapi's Solo)
7) Kesenai (Can't Erase) [Main vocalist - Tegoshi]
8) ordinary (Ryo's Solo)
9) Minna ga Iru Sekai wo Hitotsu ni Ai wo Motto (One Of The World People Have More Love) Give & Take Shimashou (Devilishness) [Main vocalist - Masuda]
10) Murarisuto (Uneven List) [Koyama & Shige's No.]
11) Taiyou no Namida (Tears Of The Sun)
12) Smile Maker
13) Happy Birthday
14) FLY AGAIN
15) Towairo no Koi (Eternal Love Of Color) [Regular Edition Only]

See what I mean ? The concept of color's the same as pacific where both Ryo & Yamapi get solo songs (again) while Tegoshi , Masuda served as the main vocalists for 1 song respectively while KoyaShige has their own duet once more .

I do wish that the other 4 guys get their own solo songs as in a way it's not fair to just keep on giving Yamapi & Ryo the glory if you know what I mean but anyway , regardless of which , I'm looking forward to the release of the new album .

So far I have been quite impressed with the long preview of FLY AGAIN so hopefully the non singles on color will bring in the goods as the singles that made the cut on color are great .

color's expected to be released in Japan on Nov 19th so be sure to get a copy of it when it hit the nearest CD stores .

Kanjani∞ - It's My Soul

It's My Soul is Kanjani∞'s 7th single . This was released last Oct on the 17th in Japan .

This's 1 song that I actually like coming from this 7 piece group believe it or not . I don't know why but there's just something catchy & captivating about It's My Soul .

Not to mention the chorus of It's My Soul it's very infectious & it's an extremely fun groovy song that sounds better as each listen goes by .

It's My Soul

Hey ! Say ! JUMP - B-sides Review Of Ultra Music Power & Dreams come true

Title said it all & I thought I reviewed the B-sides found in the group's 1st 2 singles since I already did so for Your Seed / Bouken Rider & also their latest single release Mayanoka no Shadow Boy which's released officially today in Japan .

Star Time & Too Shy (First Press CD Only Track)

Star Time - this's a really nice sweet B-side . I like the way the guys's vocals were able to harmonise real well alongside with the music . It's pretty much a typical Johnny & Associates B-side material I suppose .

Too Shy - It's a 1st press CD only track from their debut single Ultra Music Power & it kinda deserves its status of being 1 as this's a really strong & catchy B-side .

Not to mention I like how angsty driven Too Shy sounds & it's real solid .

Star Time

Too Shy

Oretachi no Seishun [Our Youth] (Takaki Yuya's Solo) & Chance to Change (CD Only Track)

Oretachi no Seishun [Our Youth] (Takaki Yuya's Solo) - I'm not very sure if this's Takaki's solo or something but anyway , I really like this B-side as it's a nice mid tempo ballad song although it took me a while to remember actually how this sounds like as it was a bit un-memorable for my liking but still this's a pretty good B-side .

Chance to Change - this's only available in the CD only pressing of Dreams come true & compared to Oretachi no Seishun , Chance to Change is a much stronger & catchier song .

I like how peppy the song sounds & this always put me in a good mood whenever I hear Chance to Change , great stuff .

Oretachi no Seishun

Chance to Change

GIRL NEXT DOOR - Jounetsu no Daishou (The Compensation Of The Passion)

Jounetsu no Daishou (The Compensation Of The Passion) is 1 1/2 of GIRL NEXT DOOR's upcoming 3rd single Jounetsu no Daishou / ESCAPE . The 2nd double A-side of the trio will be released next month on the 19th in Japan .

Jounetsu no Daishou / ESCAPE is their last single release as part of their three-part single release campaign since they have been releasing a single per month since their debut single release Guuzen no Kakuritsu which was put out last month on the 3rd .

Already the 1st A-side has been leaked out on the net a few days ago & this's 1 really neat song . Although it doesn't stray too much from the signature sound of GND but still this's something different .

I like the way vocalist Chisa sings in Jounetsu no Daishou & I really like the music going on in the song as well & this's 1 catchy song that's single material .

GND has shot a music video for Jounetsu no Daishou & I can't wait to see it . I haven't hear how ESCAPE sounds but hopefully it will sound good even though it will not receive its own video just like what happened to Shiawase no Jouken (The Condition Of The Happiness) which was the 2nd A-side of the group's 2nd single Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken .

Jounetsu no Daishou

GLAY - VERB

VERB's GLAY's 38th single . This was released on 11th June this year & it was the group's 1st single release for the year .

This was the song which held back Koda Kumi's MOON single from taking the top spot & .

At that time I wonder how come VERB managed to be so strong to hold back MOON from taking the top spot since MOON's deemed a 4 elements single ie. it has 4 songs on the single tracklist but now I understand why that's the case as VERB's a really good piece of jrock inspired music .

The whiplash & distortion of the guitar riffs for the music of VERB is just great & I really like how catchy the song as each listen goes by .

ARASHI - Boku ga Boku no Subete (I Have All My) & Wasurerarenai [Unforgettable] (Beautiful days's B-sides)

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Boku ga Boku no Subete (I Have All My) & Wasurerarenai (Unforgettable) are the 2 B-sides available in ARASHI's upcoming 24th single Beautiful days which's scheduled to be released in 2 Wed's time in Japan .

Even though Beautiful days has not been released officially yet , the whole single has practically been leaked out slowly bit by bit .

I like how different Boku ga Boku no Subete sounds & I personally find the music really charming . Although the quality of the file that I have heard is not really good , I can tell that the guys's vocals are stronger especially for MatsuJun's case .

Not to mention unlike Beautiful days , I took an instant liking to Boku ga boku no subete at once & this song is used in the latest AU (a phone company in Japan I think) ad in which the guys appeared in to promote AU's latest line of handphones .

* even though by right I have Boku ga Boku no Subete in my mp3player , I will not upload the song until I obtained a higher quality of the tune in due respect to Yuckie-chan since she mentioned to her LJ community members on not to reupload/repost it anywhere even on imeem.com so I will respect her decisions in this matter .

Wasurerarenai (Unforgettable) is only available in the CD only edition of the single & this's another solid B-side of the guys . I like the guitar pop driven sound it has & the appearance of a flute gives Wasurerarenai a nice enka twist to jazz things up .

Although this time round I find the A-side Beautiful days to be slightly weaker than their previous single releases , I must say that the B-sides are really solid especially Wasurerarenai .

I can't wait to see the video of Beautiful days now ! Come on JStorm , bring it on !

Hey ! Say ! JUMP - School Kakumei (Revolution) & Deep night Kimi Omou [Think Of You] (Mayonaka no Shadow Boy's B-sides)

School Kakumei (Revolution) & Deep night Kimi Omou [Think Of You] are the 2 B-sides available in Hey ! Say ! JUMP's 4th single Mayonaka no Shadow Boy which's set to be released this coming Wed in Japan .

I find School Kakumei pretty cool although it sounded like something that HSJ did before as evident in their debut single Ultra Music Power as I somehow find the style of School Kakumei a bit too similar with UMP but still this's 1 pretty nice & decent B-side coming from this 10 piece band under Johnny & Associates .

Deep night Kimi Omou is only available in the CD only edition of Mayonaka no Shadow Boy & I actually like this B-side a bit more than School Kakumei simply because it sounds a bit different & more edgier than its other B-side counterpart .

Not to mention I'm digging the music of Deep night Kimi Omou as it sounds a bit hip hop-ish which HSJ managed to deliver it quite well & the rapping in the midst of the song adds a nice touch & edge to Deep night Kimi Omou .

GLAY - Aka to Kuro no (Red And Black) MATADORA / I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru (I'm Looking For)

Aka to Kuro no (Red And Black) MATADORA / I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru (I'm Looking For) is GLAY's 39st single . This was released last month on the 10th in Japan & it's the quartet's 2nd single release of the year .

Just like L'Arc~en~Ciel , GLAY's also another 1 of the most respected JRock bands around . The band's name was originated from a deliberate misspelling of "gray" in representing the wide range of genres the band can fit into without being classified as "black" or "white" .

GLAY has not been afraid to experiment with different styles of music & with songs ranging from gospel to pure rock & GLAY has been around for a very long time . Formed in 1988 & making their debut in the music scene 6 years later , they have since put out 10 albums & 41 singles & counting .

The video for Aka to Kuro no MATADORA has been playing on rather heavy rotation on MTV China & last night when it was aired on TV , I thought why not I gave it a listen & I must say that this's 1 song that I'm really feeling .

I like the somewhat spanish influence in Aka to Kuro no MATADORA & the usage of the pipe & organ adds a nice edge to this rock song .

Likewise for I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru which also received its own video , this one it's a perfect contrast to Aka to Kuro no MATADORA . I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru is a ballad & my sister commented that it sounds very Mr. Children-ish .

While I can't comment much on that , I like how I LOVE YOU wo Sagashiteru is being delivered by vocalist TERU & the music for the song's really good too .

I think I will be keeping tab on this quartet from today onwards then since I really like this double a-side of the guys . I probably will consider to give their previous material a listen now then .

Kobukuro - Toki no Ashioto (The Footsteps Of Time)

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover (10 YEARS EDITION) :

Toki no Ashioto (The Footsteps Of Time) is J-folk/rock duo Kobukuro's 16th single . This is set to be released on 29th of this month in Japan & excluding their 2nd collaboration that they did with ayaka on Anata to (With You) , Toki no Ashioto is their 1st single release of the year , nearly almost a year since their last single release Aoku Yasashiku (Bluer , Kindly) .

Wow , they're another act that I have waited patiently for them to drop new material ever since the release of singles from their 5296 album in which 1 of them's the fantastic Tsubomi (Flower Bud) & Toki no Ashioto didn't fail to disappoint me .

Toki no Ashioto follows in the same folk/rock music formula which established the duo in the Japan music scene .

For me , I love the way how sincere Kobuchi & Kuroda come across in this great earnest mid tempo folk/rock ballad & you gotta admit the way that the guys's vocals work , they harmonise themselves really well & both are in synch with each other which's great .

It's quite hard to say whether Toki no Ashioto is able to match up to the same success that Tsubomi has attained but regardless of which , it's good for Kobukuro to finally come back with something good at what they does best & Toki no Ashioto is a prime eg. of it .

NEWS - FLY AGAIN (Preview) [Track 13 In color]

FLY AGAIN is a song taken from NEWS's upcoming 3rd album color which's scheduled to be released next month on the 19th in Japan & it's listed as track 14 in the tracklisting of the album .

A rather long preview of FLY AGAIN has recently surfaced on the net & yes I know what you're thinking Kevin (who's like the ultimate NEWS fan-fan that I know) , so fast ?!

My 1st impression of FLY AGAIN ? I always somehow have mispelt the song title quite a lot of times . I had been writing it as FLY AWAY instead of FLY AGAIN but anyway ..

From the sound of the rather long preview of the song , FLY AGAIN sounds to me like a mixture of SUMMER TIME's B-side's EASY COME , EASY GO (the opening especially) & Zutto from their debut album touch so I can guess you can say that it's a mid tempo ballad like no. ?

I wasn't that impressed from what I heard of FLY AGAIN at 1st but I must admit this preview seems to sound better as each listen goes by & it's 1 pretty good & catchy non single for color .

Kevin , if you don't wish to hear any spoilers , then don't click on the link below since I have uploaded the preview of FLY AGAIN via imeem.com ;p

FLY AGAIN (Preview)

Anna Tsuchiya Feat MONKEY MAJIK - GINGER

GINGER is a song taken from Anna Tsuchiya's upcoming 3rd album NUDY SHOW ! which sets to drop in Japan on 29th of this month . GINGER's listed as track 4 on NUDY SHOW ! & this's the only song from the album which received its own PV which was released recently on Japan TV .

GINGER was used as the Asahi Ginger Draft CM song in which you can see Anna promoting the beer in the video .

This time round , Anna has joined forces with MONKEY MAJIK & the song's the 2nd song on the album that sees Anna collaborating with another artiste , the 1st was with AI on Anna's 8th single , the fantastic Crazy World .

My 1st impression of the song ? It sounds really something like what probably Jack Johnson might come up with since it's a very nice laid back guitar driven voice & Anna sounded really relaxed on GINGER .

My minor grips on the song's that it's too short & clocking in under 3 mins , I thought the song might & should be extended by a few secs or so to add a few extra bites to the song & not to mention MONKEY MAJIK seems to be playing 2nd fiddle to Anna on GINGER since except for the chorus , I didn't hear much of the band's singing on the rest of the song which's quite a pity .

But anyway aside from this , this's a pretty good song that I enjoyed coming from Anna & all the more I can't wait for NUDY SHOW ! to be released in time to come !

Recently , Anna attended a press conference for "Resident Evil: Degeneration" (known as "Biohazard: Degeneration" in Japan) during the Tokyo Game Show last weekend .

At the event, it was revealed that Anna is handling the movie's ending theme, titled Guilty .

Guilty is not included on NUDY SHOW ! that goes on sale later this month , though details about the song's release have not been decided yet .

Source

Sounds really interesting , I smell another new single release coming from Anna . Maybe this will happen a few weeks after she put out NUDY SHOW ! ?

Mika Nakashima - ORION

Tracklist :

1) ORION
2) FOCUS
3) ORION (Instrumental)
4) FOCUS (Instrumental)

ORION is Mika Nakashima's 27th single . This's set to be released on the 12th of next month in Japan . The A-side ORION is used as the insert song in the TBS dorama Ryusei no Kizuna , which she also had a small acting role in while the B-side FOCUS is used in the Canon IXY DIGITAL 920IS ad .

Even though this single will not be released officially til next month , the whole single has already been leaked out on the net with the exception of the instrumentals .

Let's start with the main A-side ORION . When I 1st heard it , I was very bored with it because it sounded like a typical Mika ballad without the extra bite or trimmings but I must admit this's 1 song that's slowly but surely taking a while for me to warm up to .

I like the B-side FOCUS more than ORION as it's such a upbeat peppy jazzy no. in which Mika does best in . FOCUS gets even more catchy & better as each listen goes by & it's a pity that this time round (again) , the B-side sounds even better than the A-side , as evident in the B-sides of Mika's previous singles LIFE & Eien no Uta .

Incidentally , Mika will be releasing her 6th album VOICE 2 weeks after the release of ORION & as such I really have no idea how well (or is it how bad ?) ORION is going to fare but it reminds to be seen how so .

Hidemi Uematsu - Dear My Friends / Trauma

Dear My Friends / Trauma is Hidemi Uematsu's debut single . This was put out last Wed in Japan .

I don't know much about this young lady since sites like CDJapan & HMVJapan currently doesn't have an artiste email subscription listing on Hidemi & not to mention I haven't had much luck digging up on more info on Hidemi on wiki too but then I decided to give her music a shot after she was recommended by a friend of mine who raved about Hidemi's voice & I must say that Hidemi's voice is very unique & distinct in today's JPop music scene .

Hidemi's vocals somehow kinda reminded me of the lead vocalist of SUPERFLY .

It's a bit difficult to describe Hidemi's music but I guess it's kinda like in the vein of slow folk music ala Kobukuro .

I like how Dear My Friends come across as being sincere & genuine from Hidemi & it's 1 catchy song & it sounds better as each listen goes by & it has a very nice finger snapping beat attached to it .

Similarly for the other A-side Trauma , it's also another great piece of folk tinged music .

I'm going to keep in tab on this newcomer in time to come as I think she has quite a lot of raw potential brewing in her .

10) Link -KISS Mix-
11) Yuki no Ashiato (Footprints In Snow)
12) Hurry Xmas

KISS is L'Arc~en~Ciel's 11th album . This was released on Nov 21st last year in Japan & 5 singles are included in the album .

Recently I decided to give 1 of JRock's most respected bands's material a listen after I was won over by their latest singles the creepy but the gorgeous opera tinged like no. DRINK IT DOWN & NEXUS 4 / SHINE & as such here I'm to review their latest studio offering .

& what a better way to start things off with their 30th single SEVENTH HEAVEN which's a great infectious upbeat rock no. . I love the way there're many guitar riffs being layered over the song & this's 1 seriously catchy song that gets better as each listen goes by although the video's erm very random & strange .

Track 2's another catchy rock song & the 1st non single on KISS . Pretty girl gets its start by the beating of drums with the whip lash of the guitar & bass . Lead vocalist Hyde's vocals are in fine tune with the melody of Pretty girl although he sounded a bit more rough than usual at the end but still this's 1 neat non single .

From 1 non single to a single , in comes their 31st single MY HEART DRAWS A DREAM which's 1 of my fave singles coming from L'Arc . I just love how catchy & uplifting this song sounds . If you have seen the video , it will blow you away on how simplistic yet powerful the message it tries to deliver with regards to the song . Great stuff .

The next 3 songs are non singles on KISS . I start 1st with Sunadokei (Hourglass) . I like how the song started off in a really mellow manner & then slowly but surely , it lashes out in full swing . The way the song built up in due time , it's just great .

Up next's spiral . I only find this a-ok as it almost borderlines on the filler factor . It took me a while to actually remember on how this no. actually sounds like but right now more or less I'm alright with it .

Track 6's an extremely gorgeous mid tempo rock no. & it's 1 of my fave non singles on KISS . Titled ALONE EN LA VIDA , I like how unusually creepy it sounds . It's kinda like a more mellow version of DRINK IT DOWN except it's not as dark & depressing as the latter .

DAYBREAK'S BELL's the band's 32nd single & yet this's another fantastic L'Arc song & just like ALONE EN LA VIDA , the music arrangement of DAYBREAK'S BELL is just stunning & I was so taken aback with the song when I 1st heard this . The video's quite interesting too although frankly I don't really see the connection between the plot of the video with the song .

The next 2 songs are non singles in which Umibe (Beach) is a piano driven ballad . I really like the beginning of the song & then it slowly transforms to an angsty guitar driven piece of no.

THE BLACK ROSE is up next & this's yet another good non single on KISS . The beginning of the song's haunting with the tinkling of the piano & then sooner or later , it just lashes out in full swing with the combination of guitar & bass riffs & the thumping of the drums .

Link's the band's 29th single & in KISS , it's titled Link -KISS Mix- & er honestly both the album & single versions of Link sound the same . It's just being retitled as Link -KISS Mix- on the album to make it look more cooler I guess .

Anyway Link is 1 catchy & somewhat peppy song . Hyde sounds unusually a bit happier than usual in this no. which's great I suppose & just like SEVENTH HEAVEN , DAYBREAK'S BELL , I don't understand the meaning of the video for Link too .

The last 2 songs on the album are Christmas inspired tinged songs which's quite fitting in a way since KISS was released last Nov , a month prior to Christmas . Yuki no Ashiato (Footprints In Snow) is 1 beautiful Christmas tinged song & it's a ballad just like Umibe (Beach) but to me I somehow find Yuki no Ashiato more stronger & memorable unlike Umibe .

The final song to close KISS is the band's 33rd single Hurry Xmas . I really like how the song kicks in at the beginning & surprisingly I take this song rather well after a few listens as for me I seldom come across jrock Christmas inspired tinged songs & Hurry Xmas's a pretty good Christmas song & the video's quite interesting for that matter .

I didn't really know what to expect before I decided to give L'Arc's latest studio offering KISS a listen as this's the 1st time I have listened to an album of theirs but I must say I love this album .

The 5 singles included in KISS are extremely solid & well defined in their own right & the non singles aren't 1/2 bad themselves & were able to hold a candle or 2 against the singles .

I might have been a bit too late to jump aboard the L'Arc's music bandwagon seeing that they have been around for 17 years & counting but it's never too late for me to enjoy their own unique brand of rock music & here's to more great material from the guys .

alan - Ashita e no Sanka (A Hymn For Tomorrow) ~Orchestra Version~ (B-side of RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~)

Ashita e no Sanka (A Hymn For Tomorrow) ~Orchestra Version~ is found as the 2nd B-side single from alan's upcoming 6th single RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ which will be released in Japan this coming Wed .

This alongside with the chinese version of RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ ala Xin.Zhan (心战 ; Heart.War) ~RED CLIFF~ are both included in the single .

As the name suggest , the ~Orchestra Version~ of Ashita e no Sanka is a music arragement of alan's debut Japanese single & wow this's such a grand sweeping no. & unlike the original take on the song , the ~Orchestra Version~ is somewhat more mellow , calmer & soothing which surprises me because I thought it might be ear piercing like what the original offered .

alan still yodels on the song but unlike in the original take , her yodels in this music arrangement somehow has a more calmer approach which I can tolerate somehow & the melody of the ~Orchestra Version~ is just stunning beyond words .

The music arrangement of Ashita e no Sanka is long , clocking in at 6:23 mins but I don't mind as I really enjoyed this a lot & I just love how the melody works hand in hand together with alan's voice .

RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ is yet another solid single delivered from alan . She's going to put out her 7th single Megumi no Ame (Blessed Rain) next month on the 12th which's the last single that centres around the 5 elements with Megumi no Ame taking the theme of water (well duh , the title's already a dead giveaway .)

CD Review :: BREAKERZ - Ao no Mirai EP

Tracklist :

1) Ao no Mirai (Blue Future)
2) Kanashimi (Sad) Days
3) Crystal Night
4) Positive Blue
5) Kimi no Koe ga Kikoeru (You Hear The Voices Of)
6) FAKE LOVE
7) DESTROY CRASHER

Ao no Mirai is JRock trio BREAKERZ's 1st mini album . This was released on 2nd April this year .

No singles are included in the EP . Instead a music video was shot for the song which shares the same title as the EP .

In recent times I have became a rather big fan of this band after they caught my attention with their debut single SUMMER PARTY / LAST EMOTION when MTV Taiwan was playing SUMMER TIME on heavy rotation .

At that time I had no idea who they were & a bit more information about this talented band - they were formed just last April & since then , vocalist DAIGO STARDUST & guitarists AKIHIDE & SHINPEI (the blonde guy) have put out 2 digital singles , 2 full length albums , a mini album & only this year in July , they began to release singles which currently stands at 3 at this point in time .

So I thought it's only fitting that I will review their mini album like about now .

The 1st song is the only song to receive its own video which shares the same title as their EP .

Ao no Mirai (Blue Future) is such a great catchy track , I love the way it sounds the very 1st time I heard/seen the video for it as the tune immediately grabs me on 1st listen & I feel this song definitely deserved a video of its own .

The next 2 songs are rock songs as well . Despite the title Kanashimi (Sad) Days , it sounds nothing like a ballad nor a sad song . Instead it's quite an angsty no. & this's 1 of the more heavier & harder sounding tunes in the EP which I enjoyed .

Similarly for Crystal Night , this song has a rather catchy hook although I must admit it's not as grabbing as I thought it will be initially but this's 1 song that's slowing growing on me in due time & I like the somewhat synth touch to Crystal Night .

The only slow no. in the EP , Positive Night is a keeper & I just adore the acoustic guitar feel on the song . The way DAIGO works his vocals on Positive Night , it's just great & I like the sincerity & earnest coming from him .

The other weak link on the EP is up next . Titled Kimi no Koe ga Kikoeru (You Hear The Voices Of) , I had to take quite a while to get familiarise with this song because it's quite a forgettable no. although I like the music arrangement of Kimi no Koe ga Kikoeru .

The 2nd heavier & harder sounding song on the EP titled FAKE LOVE is another gem . I just like the way how the introduction of FAKE LOVE kicks in within a snap & the whole 'woah woah woah' at the background makes it a bit more easier for me to recall how the song sounds .

The final track DESTROY CRASHER is the most unusual song on Ao no Mirai because in here , DAIGO's voice sounded distorted & it's like he's singing into a tape recorder or something but still I applaud on how unique this sounds & stood out from the pack .

I didn't know what to expect when I 1st decide to give Ao no Mirai a listen especially since no singles were released from the mini album but I'm glad I did because I managed to spot a few gems or 2 hidden in this EP .

I think this trio has a bright future ahead of them & they have plenty of potential brewing in them . So far the singles that they have put out ala SUMMER PARTY / LAST EMOTION , Sekai wa Odoru / Shakunetsu have been superb/great rock no.s & the guys are going to release their 3rd double a-side single Angelic Smile / WINTER PARTY next month on the 5th & I really can't wait for that to happen .

YUI - I'll be

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

I'll be is the only new song & track 1 on YUI's upcoming 1st first compilation album titled MY SHORT STORIES .

MY SHORT STORIES is set to be released next month on the 12th in Japan & it consists of all of YUI's B-sides from her singles (up to SUMMER SONG) + this new song I'll be & it was used for promotion in the Walkman "Play You" campaign .

It has to be 1 of the catchiest songs that I have heard in recent times & not just from YUI . When I 1st heard I'll be , it borrowed shades & elements of YUI's previous songs such as Laugh away , CHE.R.RY & Last Train .

I really like how cheery & carefree YUI sounds in I'll be & incidentally she has filmed a music video for this no. & I really can't wait to see how it turns out to be as this's 1 great catchy tune coming from this talented singer/songwriter .

CD Review :: ai otsuka - LOVE PUNCH

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Tracklist :

1) pretty voice
2) Momo no Hanabira (Peach Petal)
3) Sakuranbo (Cherries)
4) GIRLY
5) Ame no Naka no Melody (A Melody In The Rain)
6) Shabondama (Bubbles)
7) Ishikawa Osaka Yuukou Jouken (Ishikawa Osaka Friendship Treaty)
8) Kataomoi Dial (Unrequitted Love Dial)
9) Honey
10) Amaenbo (Spoiled Child)
11) Always Together

LOVE PUNCH is ai otsuka's debut album . This was released on 31st April '04 in Japan in 2 different formats & it contains 3 singles that're highlighted in bold letterings .

The album start things off with pretty voice which's quite a fast paced upbeat pop/rock no. . This's 1 well pretty good song & it flows quite well with the next 2 songs which're incidentally her 1st 2 singles .

Track 2's otsuka's debut single Momo no Hanabira (Peach Petal) & I really adore this no. simply because of the beautiful music arrangement that's attached to the song & besides the video's cute as well .

The next track's Sakuranbo (Cherries) which's credited as otsuka's breakthrough hit & this's her 2nd & highest selling single to date . This's the song that I 1st came into contact with her music & when I 1st heard it as I find it quite annoying but as time goes by , I grew to appreciate otsuka's somewhat over the top songs .

Track 4's titled GIRLY & it follows in the same music style as pretty voice & Sakuranbo in that all 3 are generally pop/rock no.s . At least GIRLY managed to sound a bit different from its other 2 counterparts or else I will have problems distinguishing all of them .

The next 2 songs are considered the ballads in LOVE PUNCH . Ame no Naka no Melody (A Melody In The Rain) & Shabondama (Bubbles) are really nice soothing no.s & I like how dreamy & carefree both Ame no Naka no Melody & Shabondama sounds .

I slightly prefer Ame no Naka no Melody as 1/2 way though the song , it began to transit to a slight mid tempo pop/rock no. whereas for Shabondama , it's a pretty steady song which otsuka shot a video for it .

After in which 2 songs are followed which contains strange titles . I find Ishikawa Osaka Yuukou Jouken (Ishikawa Osaka Friendship Treaty) amusing but cute . At least it's not over the top & silly like her other non singles works while for Kataomoi Dial (Unrequitted Love Dial) , I find it really catchy & the fact that there's a LOVE-chan video version of this song in the DVD tracklist of the album , makes it even more fun to listen to .

Track 9's the shortest song on LOVE PUNCH at 2:13 mins but I really like Honey as it's short , simple & sweet to the point . It's not as cheesy as I thought it will be . I like how otsuka sings & kinda coos in this no. .

The next track's her 3rd single titled Amaenbo (Spoiled Child) & I like the way Honey flows in smoothly to Amaenbo because both of them are almost in the same melody train & I like Amaenbo the 1st time I heard it & the fact that before the song was about to end , there's an electric guitar to close things off & it adds a nice touch to Amaenbo .

Last but definitely not least , the final track on LOVE PUNCH titled Always Together in which I think it's a great way to close off the album with this catchy & piano driven no. . Always Together places a more heavy emphasis on the piano but still I don't mind this & the backing vocals of people at the end of Always Together just takes things to a whole new level .

otsuka's debut album LOVE PUNCH is a solid effort but I find the music journey a bit too short for my liking with regards to the non singles but considering the fact that this was her 1st album , it was a good stepping stone for her which transit to her future albums like LOVE JAM , LOVE COOK & LOVE PiECE .

An album worth checking out on if you want to experience a dose of piano driven/pop rock Japanese music .

GIRL NEXT DOOR - Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken (The Condition Of The Happiness)

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Tracklist :

1) Drive away
2) Shiawase no Jouken (The Condition Of The Happiness)
3) Drive away (maximizor mix)
4) Drive away (ice cream mix)

Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken (The Condition Of The Happiness) is JPop/Rock trio GIRL NEXT DOOR's 2nd single & their 1st double A-side release . This was put out just this Wed in Japan .

I love how carefree both the A-side songs sound . Both of them lean towards a more poppy & somewhat trance feel but as a result , I had a problem telling on how each of the A-side sounds like as at 1st but right now I'm getting the hang of how each of them differs slightly , music wise .

I thought either 1 of them should be a ballad to minimise confusion but I suppose it takes time for you to digest on how each of the song sounds different & unique in their own right .

Now I'm usually not a remix person to begin with & when I saw the tracklist that they have 2 remixes of Drive away , I kinda freaked out of sorts but thankfully they sound pretty a-ok to me although I have no idea why they love to use 'ice cream mix' as the title of the 2nd remix of Drive away cos they used that term for the remix of their debut single Guuzen no Kakuritsu .

GND will be putting out their 3rd single Jounetsu no Daishou (The Compensation Of The Passion) / ESCAPE next month on the 19th & it's the last part of their three-part single release campaign .

NEWS - color Album Details

Tracklist :

1) weeeek
2) STARDUST
3) SUMMER TIME
4) SNOW EXPRESS
5) Forever
6) MOLA (Yamapi's Solo)
7) Kesenai (Can't Erase) [Main vocalist - Tegoshi]
8) ordinary (Ryo's Solo)
9) Minna ga Iru Sekai wo Hitotsu ni Ai wo Motto (One Of The World People Have More Love) Give & Take Shimashou (Devilishness) [Main vocalist - Masuda]
10) Murarisuto (Uneven List) [Koyama & Shige's No.]
11) Taiyou no Namida (Tears Of The Sun)
12) Smile Maker
13) Happy Birthday
14) FLY AGAIN
15) Towairo no Koi (Eternal Love Of Color) [Regular Edition Only]

color is NEWS's upcoming 3rd brand new album . This is set to be released next month on the 19th in Japan & this announcement comes in just barely 2 weeks since their 10th single Happy Birthday was put out & incidentally this makes the cut on their color album which surprises me since this's probably the 1st time I've seen a Johnny & Associates album containing more than 3 singles .

The album will be released in 2 editions , a regular edition containing a 16 page booklet & an extra track titled Towairo no Koi (Eternal Love Of Color) while the limited edition will contain a 32 page booklet without Towairo no Koi in the tracklist .

color will include all the singles that they released since last year inclusive of their recent single & their 10th straight no.1 Happy Birthday .

Well let me just say that it's ABOUT TIME that NEWS put out a new album since pacific which I enjoyed alongside with their debut album touch & in a way I'm stunned that they will be dropping color quite so soon especially since like what I said earlier on , Happy Birthday was released just 2 weeks + or less .

It's nice to see weeeek to be track 1 as this's the song that started my NEWS music journey & quite a few song titles sounds promising like STARDUST .

Forever probably might sound like a ballad judging from the title itself & I just realised 1 thing - SNOW EXPRESS & the regular edition only track Towairo no Koi , these 2 songs were performed by the guys in their NEWS CONCERT TOUR pacific 2007 - 2008 -THE FIRST TOKYO DOME CONCERT- as track 23 & 21 respectively in the DVD tracklist which's interesting .

Can't really comment on the Japanese titled songs except for Taiyou no Namida which's their most serious single that they have put out to date in which it's awesome .

Although in a way I'm a bit annoyed that color's releasing so soon next month in Japan as it's doing bad things to my wallet (thanks Johnny's Entertainment ... NOT) , but still I say bring on the album !

touch & pacific pretty much delivered in their own retrospect & it reminds to be seen if color can do a good follow up or not from pacific .

Hey ! Say ! JUMP - Mayonaka no (Midnight) Shadow Boy

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Both bigger & scaned up covers credits to http://never-ending-music-power.blogspot.com

Mayonaka no (Midnight) Shadow Boy is Hey ! Say ! JUMP's 4th single . This's set to be released on 22nd of this month & it's the theme song for the drama Scrap Teacher Kyoshi Saisei which stars fellow HSJ's members Yuto Nakajima , Ryosuke Yamada , Yuri Chinen & Daiki Arioka .

CDJapan describes the song as "their first actual love song & it has painfully sad , passionate lyrics & a melancholic melody with a Spanish taste . " & they certainly have hit the nail on the head with this description .

When I 1st saw the description that CDJapan wrote on their site with regards to the above paragraph , I immediately think , is it gonna be a Seishun Amigo or Daite Senorita clone since both songs have Spanish influences going on in them .

But thankfully Mayonaka no Shadow Boy sounds nothing like a copycat with regards to the 2 songs that I mentioned earlier on & that it still managed to sound quite original on its own .

I must say after the full radio version of the song has surfaced on the net , I can't stop listening to it as it's quite an addicitve catchy no. & I thought they couldn't top things off after their last single Your Seed / Bouken Rider which I enjoyed tremendously .

I have already seen a video preview pertaining to Mayonaka no Shadow Boy & the singles covers as well & it looks pretty good & quite dark which's quite a sharp contrast to their previous 3 singles that they have put out so far . Guess it's all part of growing up for this really young band .

2 B-sides will be included in the single namely School Kakumei (Revolution) & Deep night Kimi Omou (I Think You) in which the 2nd one will only be included in the CD only edition of the single & I can't wait to hear how both songs will sound like in due time .

& speaking of which , I think a debut album's kinda already long overdue coming from this 10 piece group .

alan - RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ (~Heart.War~)

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ (~Heart.War~) is alan's 6th Japanese single . This's set to be released next Wed in Japan & this's the 4th of her five singles centring around the the theme of the classical Japanese elements (Godai) , with this song having a fire theme . (The CD + DVD cover is just <3)

There will be 2 B-sides included in the single in which 1 of them's the chinese version of the A-side (titled Xin.Zhan (心战 ; Heart.War) ~RED CLIFF~) which was used in the John Woo movie Red Cliff hence the same title being used in this single & also an Orchestra Version of her debut Japanese single Ashita e no Sanka (A Hymn For Tomorrow) .

& Xin.Zhan ~RED CLIFF~ is her debut chinese single which was released under avex China .

So by right , alan recorded Xin.Zhan ~RED CLIFF~ 1st before she decided to record a Japanese take on the song & naturally I 1st heard the chinese take on RED CLIFF & this's quite a depressing song coming from her but I suppose it's natural on how Xin.Zhan suppose to sound like to fit the whole theme of the Red Cliff movie .

The Japanese take on the song aka the main A-side RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ doesn't stray too much from the original besides the difference in language (well duh) except there're some additional parts of her signature yodelling at the 1st few mins of the song before it concludes & I feel that it adds a nice touch to this ballad .

I haven't heard the Orchestra Version of Ashita e no Sanka but from the sound of things , I think it's going to be a great music arrangement of alan's debut Japanese single .

Apparently avex is doing some heavy/serious promotion for this single of hers & I do hope RED CLIFF ~Shin.Sen~ is able to perform decently in Japan when it's put out next Wed .

ARASHI - Beautiful days

CD Only Cover :

CD + DVD Cover :

Beautiful days is the upcoming 24th single release by ARASHI . This's set to be released next month on the 5th & this's the group's 4th single that they have put out this year , the most they have done so for a year .

The song will be used as the theme song for drama Ryusei no Kizuna which stars fellow member Nino & NEWS's Ryo Nishikido .

Yesterday a rather good radio rip of the song has surfaced on the net & I'm currently listening to the song now .

My 1st impression of it ? it's very christmas-y & it sounds nothing like what I thought it will be . To me it sounds like a mixture of the B-sides from WISH & Happiness ala Ichioku No Hoshi , Futari no Kinenbi , Still ... & Snowflake respectively since all the 4 B-sides have similar christmas vibes going on in the songs & so does the A-sides themselves .

Beautiful days's definitely not as catchy as their previous single truth / Kaze no Mukou e but I suppose with christmas looming around the corner , it's quite in a way fitting for them to release another christmas inspired like song .

Beautiful days (Radio Rip)

KinKi Kids - Fu Fu Fu , Bitter Chocolate , strategie & Secret Code ~KinKi you Live Version~ (Secret Code's B-sides)

Fu Fu Fu , Bitter Chocolate , strategie & Secret Code ~KinKi you Live Version~ are 4 B-sides found on KinKi Kids's latest single Secret Code .

Fu Fu Fu was used in the Juuroku Cha ad & I remembered when I 1st saw this song title I was worried on whether will it sound silly/cheesy but I actually kinda like this song as it's quite on the poppy side & it reminded of some of their 25th single BRAND NEW SONG .

Bitter Chocolate's only found in the regular edition of the single (what's up with the word Chocolate being used in this song with KinKi Kids's koukai Tegomass that has a B-side song in their Miso Soup single titled Chocolate) but anyway this's quite an upbeat dancey no. . It's not really that memorable on 1st listen but it sounds better as each time goes by .

The next 2 tracks are only found in the limited edition pressing of the single . I really like strategie on 1st listen & this's probably my fave B-side outta the whole lot simply because it borrows music elements from the duo's previous singles such as Anniversary & Veludo no Yami in which I adore both singles a lot so naturally I immediately draw comparison with strategie . As such I feel strategie is a great listen .

Last but definitely not least , the ~KinKi you Live Version~ of Secret Code in which there's not much to comment except it's basically a live version take on the A-side .

Tegomass - Hajimete no Asa (The First Time In The Morning) , Chocolate & Sunadokei [Hourglass] (Miso Soup's B-sides)

Hajimete no Asa (The First Time In The Morning) , Chocolate & Sunadokei (Hourglass) are the 3 B-sides found on Tegomass's debut single Miso Soup .

Hajimete no Asa (The First Time In The Morning) is actually my fave B-side outta the whole lot simply because it's such a great mid tempo ballad & it immediately reminded me of Ai Nante which's found in NEWS's pacific album . It's not as dramatic like Ai Nante but still Hajimete no Asa is a great song that I really enjoyed & I love the way Tegoshi & Masuda's vocals work in this no. , fantastic stuff !

The 2nd B-side is titled Chocolate & yes I know I find it amusing that they have a song in which it's titled as such . Surprisingly I rather enjoy this no. . At 1st I thought it will be a cheesy no. but it's quite a mid tempo no & thankfully it doesn't sound as crazy as it seems to be .

The final B-side Sunadokei (Hourglass) is only found in the CD only edition of the single . This's 1 really slow no. & I mean it iterally . Although I feel it's not as attention grabbing as Hajimete no Asa but still I enjoy Sunadokei & not to mention I adore the music arrangement of the song , it's really beautiful & somewhat soothing/calming .

Tegomass - Kimi (You) + Boku (Me) = LOVE ? , Marui Chikara (Round Strength) & Kibou no Hikari wo Kokoro ni Tomosou [Let The Light Of Hope Burn In Our Hearts] (Kiss ~Kaeri Michi no Love Song~'s B-sides)

Kimi (You) + Boku (Me) = LOVE ? , Marui Chikara (Round Strength) & Kibou no Hikari wo Kokoro ni Tomosou (Let The Light Of Hope Burn In Our Hearts) are the 3 B-sides found on Tegomass's 2nd single Kiss ~Kaeri Michi no Love Song~ .

I find Kimi (You) + Boku (Me) = LOVE ? rather amusing & cute on 1st listen as the song opened with some fancy trumpet being blah out at the beginning . It does get a bit silly when I listened to this upbeat song which was the opening theme for the anime Lovely Complex but at least the guys managed to save the song without sounding even more cheesier than ever .

The 2nd B-side Marui Chikara (Round Strength) is the 1 that I find really weak on 1st listen . It was quite bad to the extent that it took me a while to remember how it sounds like because the opening was quite boring for my liking but thankfully in the midst of Marui Chikara , it has some legs & I really like the choir backing of the song which prevented Marui Chikara from becoming a really bland B-side .

The final B-side Kibou no Hikari wo Kokoro ni Tomosou (Let The Light Of Hope Burn In Our Hearts) is only available in the CD only edition of Kiss ~Kaeri Michi no Love Song~ & this's my fave B-side outta the whole lot simply because it's a catchy guitar pop driven no. & I really like how sincere Tegoshi & Masuda comes about in this song & not to mention with a title like Kibou no Hikari wo Kokoro ni Tomosou , it screams out aww isn't it ?

Tegomass - Bokura no Uta (Our Song) , Moshi mo Boku ga Pochi Dattara ... (If I Were Pochi ...) & Boku no (My) Cinderella (Aiaigasa's B-sides)

Bokura no Uta (Our Song) , Moshi mo Boku ga Pochi Dattara ... (If I Were Pochi ...) & Boku no (My) Cinderella are the 3 B-sides found on Tegomass's 3rd single Aiaigasa in which Boku no Cinderella's only found in the regular edition pressing of the single .

I really like Bokura no Uta on 1st listen as it's such a catchy & great guitar pop driven no. & I can tell that the guys had quite a lot of fun singing along to this song . I find myself humming along to the tune of Bokura no Uta when I listen to it .

The 2nd B-side Moshi mo Boku ga Pochi Dattara ... (If I Were Pochi ...) is quite amusing , title wise . I didn't know what to expect when I 1st came across Moshi mo Boku ga Pochi Dattara ... but I was real surprised when the melody kicked in , in the form of some old fashioned guitar strumming .

It's quite a slow mid tempo driven no. & I like the way Tegoshi & Masuda work their way in this somewhat charming no.

The last B-side Boku no Cinderella is only available in the CD only edition of Aiaigasa . This's yet another great catchy guitar driven song & I just like how happy this song sounds .

It's nice to know that the B-sides on Aiaigasa sounds equally as great as the main A-side itself . This single's really a keeper .

Guuzen no Kakuritsu (Accidental Probability) is JPop/Rock trio GIRL NEXT DOOR's debut single . This was released last month on the 3rd in Japan & GND debuted on the music scene officially with this no.

GND makes up of 3 members with vocalist Chisa , Suzuki Daisuke on keyboards & Inoue Yuji on guitars . Suzuki also served as composer in the band .

Chisa was originally a dancer based in the Kansai area . avex trax noticed her performance and presence and encouraged her to take lessons in Tokyo . She entered the Avex Artist Academy on a scholarship & there met Suzuki , who was a writer mainly contributing tracks for other artists .

After recording several demo tracks together , the two caught the attention of Avex CEO , Max Matsuura . After adding guitarist Inoue , they made their debut last month .

They have had several promotions in Japan , mainly in blog advertisements. The video for Guuzen no Kakuritsu was aired a month & a 1/2 before their debut and it was filmed in Los Angeles & Las Vegas respectively .

I actually came across GND's music on MTV China as they were playing Guuzen no Kakuritsu on heavy rotation & naturally curiousity got the better of me & for me I didn't expect that they're a new band .

I find Guuzen no Kakuritsu a really catchy piece of pop/rock music & this's something that an artiste probably release in the summer which's odd considering that summer's already over but still this's 1 extremely peppy no. .

The 1st B-side is called Breath & this's 1 very nice mid tempo track . It's quite an emotional charged up no. & Chisa's vocals work quite nicely in this song . Breath's less complicated than Guuzen no Kakuritsu in terms of music arrangement wise although I somehow find Breath familiar in that it reminded me of other pop/rock songs that I heard before .

The 2nd B-side is called Red ribbon ~Unmei no Hito~ (~The People Of The Destiny~) & this's another great upbeat no. . It does bear some similarities with Guuzen no Kakuritsu but at least it managed to sound distinct enough .

Last but not least , a music rearrangment of Guuzen no Kakuritsu which's titled (ice cream mix) . I personally like both the original & the ice cream mix of the song although in the ice cream mix , Chisa immediately starts to sing unlike the original .

I overall find GND's debut single a great listen especially if you like pop/rock music & incidentally they will be releasing their 2nd & 1st double a side single Drive away / Shiawase no Jouken (The Condition Of The Happiness) next Wed in which Drive away's the only song that received its own music video .

# #1 BREAKERZ fan in Singapore since 2008 debut single ♥

# My music blog consists of JPop/Rock singles & albums reviews that I put my heart , efforts & soul into writing them as I'm disgusted with the way that JPop/Rock music is being treated/written/reviewed in Singapore so to the local media (yes you TEENS , Teenage Magazine & The Strait Times) , screw you all . I basically can write better JPop/Rock reviews , period
