whodunit / Share is GLAY's 62nd single & it was released last month on 29th May .
The release of whodunit / Share is to celebrate GLAY's 30th anniversary in the business .
The 1st A-side whodunit is a hard rock no. & the song features ENHYPEN's JAY who also cowrote the song together with guitarist TAKURO .
The 2nd A-side Share is a mid tempo no. . Promo wise , Share was used in the ads of HBA Co., Ltd in celebration of the company's 60th anniversary .
Unlike whodunit , no video was made for Share .
whodunit / Share also includes 4 live audio tracks as B-sides which were recorded from QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT『THE RHAPSODY TOUR』in SAPPORO DOME .
GLAY celebrates the 30th anniversary of their debut with a double A-side anniversary single whodunit / Share . The legendary band collaborates with JAY from K-pop boy group ENHYPEN for the hard rock tune whodunit . Meanwhile , Share is a warm middle-tempo number .
1 thing I like about double A-side singles is that you get 2 songs with 2 different music styles & the same thing applies to whodunit / Share .
I enjoy both whodunit & Share equally as so even though I find it a slight shame that GLAY did not made a video for Share as I felt it deserves so .
whodunit is a classic JRock no. with great guitar riffs & ENHYPEN's JAY vocally complimented GLAY's vocalist TERU well while Share showcases a more softer side to GLAY .
With this year being GLAY's 30th anniversary , the following 3 new releases will be released in the next few months in continuation of the band's landmark milestone :
- Kaishin no Ichigeki ; to be released digitally on 31st July ; opening theme for the anime Grendizer U
- GLAY 30th Anniversary GLAY EXPO 2024-2025 in BELLUNA DOME LIVE DVD & Blu-ray ; Sept
- 17th album Back To The Pops ; Oct
Promo wise , Ikidzuku was used to promote the movie Kaze no Kanade no Kimi e starring vocalist Ryuta (in his 1st movie acting role credit) & actress Matsushita Nao .
Not only Matsushita Nao acted in Kaze no Kanade no Kimi e alongside with Ryuta , she also is featured in Ikidzuku which I thought it's cool as this marks only the 2nd time flumpool featured another artiste in their discography , after Taiwanese Rock band Mayday .
I don't listen to Matsushita Nao but in Ikidzuku , she sounded lovely & complimented Ryuta's vocals well .
It reminds to be seen if Ikidzuku will be a 1 off collaboration but I don't mind if flumpool & Matsushita Nao will release another duet in the future .
ayaka's new song was chosen to promote Daio Paper Corporation's Elleair Pet Kimi Omoi which the singer serves as its ambassador . ayaka was inspired by the messages that pet owners nationwide sent through social media in writing Zutto Kimi to .
A dog-owner herself , ayaka commented , "I wrote Zutto Kimi to while emphasising with everyone's feelings & while thinking of my dogs who give me healing & love daily since becoming family 13 years ago . It's a song I created while holding my dogs Ao & Raki in my arms so I can feel their warmth every time I hear it or sing it ."
ayaka's 2 dogs Ao & Raki are present in the digital cover and both of them are also featured in the video together with ayaka herself .
Zutto Kimi to has to be 1 of the most personal songs ayaka has came up with to date .
Something about Zutto Kimi to , it has a warm fuzzy feeling to it when I listen to it . Even though I don't own any pets myself , I'm sure this song will most definitely stuck a chord with anyone , pet owner or not .
Without a doubt , Zutto Kimi to is a love letter to all pet owners out there .

Shokuzai is SID's 28th single & it was released last month on 29th May .
SID's latest single offering was released 2 months+ after their previous single Omokage .
Promo wise , Shokuzai was used as the ending theme for the anime Kuroshitsuji -Kishuku Gakkou-hen- .
Before Shokuzai was released physically , the A-side was 1st released digitally on 12th April which happened 1 day before Kuroshitsuji -Kishuku Gakkou-hen- began airing .
The CD + Blu-ray tracklist included 3 past songs that SID provided to use for the Kuroshitsuji anime series over the years .
Written by vocalist Mao & composed by drummer Yuya , Shokuzai is different from the past 3 songs SID provided for the Kuroshitsuji anime but in a good way .
It's interesting that all the 4 songs SID provided for the Kuroshitsuji anime over the years are all musically different from each other but to me , Monochrome no Kiss is still the best out of the lot .
That said I look forward to see if SID will release anymore new music this year . It's a surprise that they release 2 new songs quite near each other back to back but I'm not complaining .
