6th Dec which was the digital release date of This weekend is the date of Koda's debut anniversary & the song release was to celebrate her 24th anniversary in the business .
Promo wise , This weekend was chosen to promote the latest GEMCEREY ads which makes this the 1st time in 17 years Koda promotes the jewellery line .
The R&B track sings of a woman's growing feelings & expectations for her boyfriend . This weekend captures the excitement & anticipation of love , with lyrics expressing the hope for a romantic confession by the weekend . The release is accompanied by stunning cover art featuring Koda adorned in shimmering jewels , tying in beautifully with the commercial's theme .
It was a surreal moment when GEMCEREY announced Koda has returned to endorse their jewellery products after nearly 2 decades because GEMCEREY was 1 of many brands Koda endorsed at that time when she was really on the high peak of popularity during the early 2000s .
When GEMCEREY made this announcement , I was excited & this also brought back so many memories for me because I remembered the old GEMCEREY ads that Koda were featured in which in return her old songs were played in the ads and those songs of hers ie. you & Black Cherry's album track Tsuki to Taiyou are still some of her best to date .
So in a way this's a full circle moment for Koda & what a way for her to kick off the early celebrations of her impending 25th anniversary next year with this great starting point .
It will be great if past companies that Koda used to endorse will rework with her again . If GEMCEREY could do that I don't see why the others cannot follow suit .

Both MMH & PHOENIX were released about 6 months+ since UVERworld's previous single MEMORIES of the End .
The single covers for both releases were taken in London .
Promo wise MMH was used as the opening theme song for the 2nd season of the Nanatsu no Taizai Mokushiroku no Yonkishi anime .
MMH is the 3rd song UVERworld has contributed to promote the Nanatsu no Taizai anime after :
- ROB THE FRONTIER ; 35th single
- NAMELY ; 38th single
Before MMH was released physically , the Anime Version of MMH was released digitally on 6th Oct .
WINGS ever serves as the B-side in MMH & the song promoted ABEMA M League 2024-25 Season .
Promo wise PHOENIX was used to promoted the ACMA:GAME Saigo no Kagi movie .
Before PHOENIX was released physically , the Movie version of PHOENIX was released digitally on 6th Oct .
Countdown serves as the B-side in PHOENIX & CNBLUE's Jung Yong-hwa is featured in the song vocals wise .
UVERworld simultaneously releases 2 singles on the same day ! Spirited Rock number MMH is the band's 3rd song they provided to promote the Nanatsu no Taizai Mokushiroku no Yonkishi anime series while PHOENIX is the theme song of ACMA: GAME: Saigo no Kagi movie , the film sequel of the TV drama ACMA: GAME that the band also provided the theme song for .
To say it's a surprise that UVERworld chose to release MMH & PHOENIX separately on the same day & not as a double A-side single is interesting because this's something they have never done before until now .
That said both MMH & PHOENIX are very different from each other but in a good way . Another surprise is that both songs are quite short but sometimes you don't need a very long song to get the attention of listeners .
As to the next UVERworld music release , I think they will release a new album next year because they did not do so this year but regardless of which I await in anticipation of what they will release next .
